More than a Job – Serving Seniors is a Calling

Most of us have stories about loving seniors as children whether they were our own grandparents, a neighbor, or some other older adult who took a personal interest in us.  These loving bonds are the type of long-lasting attachments that stay in our mind and our hearts.   For many of MorningStar Senior Living team members, their heartfelt stories about a close relationship to a senior was life transforming and guides the way they feel about seniors even now.  As one of our communities’ Executive Directors explains, she gained so much perspective regarding seniors while volunteering in a hospital’s geriatric ward as a teenager.   She adds, “My life is richer for their counsel.”

While it can be difficult to find a fulfilling career, at MorningStar we know that serving seniors provides the opportunity to make a difference in their life as well as our own.  After all, where else do you get the chance to hear cherished life stories and to learn from wisdom gained through a life well lived.  In fact studies have shown that most of the job satisfaction of working with seniors comes from the relationship developed with the residents. 

Currently our Denver communities, including MorningStar of Wheat Ridge, MorningStar at RidgeGate, MorningStar of Littleton, Parker Senior Living, MorningStar at Jordan and MorningStar at Dayton Place are seeking extraordinary people to fill a variety of positions.  In addition to caregivers, we also need housekeepers, dining room servers, cooks, chefs, and more.
